Special Satsang on June 28th, 2026 - A Report

The Ramakrishna Ashrama in Warren, Michigan, was blessed to host a special Satsang on Sunday, June 28, 2026, featuring Rev. Swami Ishatmananda, President of the Vedanta Society of Chicago, Illinois. The occasion was especially memorable as it marked the first visit to the Ashrama by two revered Pravrajikas: Rev. Pravrajika Gitaprana of the Vivekananda Retreat, Ridgely, New York, and Rev. Pravrajika Pragyanaprana of the Vedanta Society of Northern California. Devotees from the metropolitan Detroit area gathered to receive the spiritual inspiration and blessings of the distinguished speakers. Swami Ishatmananda warmly welcomed the devotees and introduced the two Pravrajikas. Pravrajika Gitaprana delivered an illuminating talk on "Living Spirituality," outlining six tendencies to avoid and four virtues to cultivate in order to attain peace of mind and make steady spiritual progress. Pravrajika Pragyanaprana shared a deeply inspiring reminiscence of the Holy Mother, Sarada Devi, as recounted by Swami Haripremananda, bringing to life the simplicity, compassion, and transforming spiritual presence of the Holy Mother. In his concluding remarks, Swami Ishatmananda emphasized the importance of establishing a personal relationship with God through sincere devotion and earnest prayer. He encouraged devotees to pray wholeheartedly for the removal of ego and for spiritual growth, reminding them that a life centered on God, supported by regular spiritual practice, gradually opens the heart to divine grace. The evening concluded with the offering and distribution of Bhog Prasad to all the devotees, bringing the blessed Satsang to a joyful and prayerful close.
