A Blessed Satsang on July 26th, 2026 - A Report
The Ramakrishna Ashrama in Warren, Michigan, was blessed to host a special Satsang on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the holy presence of four distinguished monastics of the Ramakrishna Order: Rev. Swami Sarvadevananda, Head of the Vedanta Society of Southern California; Rev. Swami Kripamayananda, Head of the Vedanta Society of Toronto; Rev. Swami Ishatmananda, President of the Vedanta Society of Chicago; and Pravrajika Matriprana of the Vedanta Society of Southern California. The evening offered devotees an opportunity to listen to inspiring reflections on spiritual life, devotion, and the enduring message of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. Swami Kripamayananda spoke on the importance of finding the right spiritual guide to lead us toward a life of lasting happiness and bliss. He reminded devotees that Sri Ramakrishna is the perfect example of such a guide. He also beautifully explained the unity of the Holy Trio—Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda—as three manifestations of one divine reality. Swami Sarvadevananda shared a simple yet profound way to bring greater joy and spiritual fulfillment into our daily lives: dedicating all our actions to Thakur. He encouraged devotees to look upon even the most ordinary household duties as Thakur’s work and to perform them in a spirit of loving service. Such an attitude, he reminded us, can transform everyday activities into a joyful spiritual practice. With Guru Purnima approaching, Pravrajika Matriprana spoke on the sacred Guru-Shishya relationship between Swami Vivekananda and Sister Christine. She recalled Sister Christine’s deep devotion to Swamiji and her remarkable service to the upliftment and education of Indian women, undertaken in response to his vision and wishes. Her connection with Detroit makes her life and legacy especially meaningful to the local community. In his concluding remarks, Swami Ishatmananda highlighted Sister Christine’s lasting contributions and shared the Ashrama’s vision for expanding its building in the future, helping to preserve and honor her inspiring legacy. Devotees from across the metropolitan Detroit area gathered in large numbers to receive the blessings and spiritual inspiration of the revered monastics. The evening concluded with the offering and distribution of Bhog Prasad, bringing the blessed Satsang to a warm and prayerful close. The gathering left devotees inspired to deepen their devotion and carry the message of Sri Ramakrishna into their daily lives.
