The Ramakrishna Ashrama in Warren, MI, celebrated Kalpataru Ustav on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 with great enthusiasm. About 200 local devotees gathered at the Ashrama to celebrate this special occassion. The program started at 11am with special puja of the Holy Trio - Thakur Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Saradamani Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. The local devotees sang devotional songs and read from the holy books namely, SriRamakrishna Kathamrita, Mayer Katha and Yuvanayak Swami Vivekananda. The devotees discussed about the signifinace of this day, 1st January, for all devotees of Sri Ramakrishna. On this day in 1886, Sri Ramakrishna revealed himself as "Kalpataru," or wish-fulfilling tree and blessed all his devotees gathered at Kashipur Udyanbati in Kolkata saying "Tomader Chaitanya Hok" (May you realize your Divine Consciousness). Since then, the devotees of Sri Ramakrishna all around the world celebrate this day as Kalpataru Day and offer their prayers to the Master to seek His blessings and grace for the fulfillment of their spiritual aspirations. At the end of the discussion, the devotees offered flower offerings and enjoyed Bhog Prasad for lunch, sponsored by Mr. Buddha Choudhury and his family.
