Vedanta Study Circle and Ramakrishna Ashrama, Detroit, Michigan
The Ramakrishna Ashrama in Warren, MI celebrated Kali Puja on Monday, October 20th, with great devotion and enthusiasm. The program began at 6:00 PM, following the traditional rituals of Kali Puja. The Divine Mother was worshipped with sixteen sacred offerings (Shodashopachara), followed by a Havan (fire ceremony) and Pushpanjali, where devotees offered flowers in reverence. In celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights—which coincides with Kali Puja—women devotees lit candles and diyas and performed Aarti to honor the Divine Mother. Throughout the evening, the atmosphere was filled with spiritual fervor as local devotees sang Shyamasangeet and kirtans dedicated to Goddess Kali. The event drew over 250 attendees. Following the conclusion of the rituals, all devotees were served delicious Bhog Prasad.
