The local devotees of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa in the Detroit area were blessed with the holy presence of Revered Swami Ishatmananda, President of the Vedanta Society of Chicago, on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
In a deeply spiritual and uplifting ceremony, seven fortunate seekers were initiated into the Ramakrishna Order by Swami Ishatmanandaji. The initiation was accompanied by a sacred puja dedicated to the Holy Trio—Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda.
Following the ceremony, Swamiji graciously met with his previously initiated disciples, addressing their questions and clarifying their doubts regarding meditation (dhyana) and repetition of the holy name (japa).
At 12 noon, Swami Ishatmananda delivered an inspiring discourse on the importance of seeking divine help during times of distress, drawing from the profound teachings of the Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. The session concluded with heartfelt devotional singing of "Bhaba Sagara Tarana Karana Hey" by the devotees.
Approximately 75 devotees were in attendance, deeply moved by Swamiji’s words.
The spiritual gathering concluded with a delicious Bhog Prasad lunch, lovingly served to all. The meal included piping hot khichuri, crispy potato fries, creamy payasam (rice pudding), fresh fruits, and a variety of sweets — a fitting end to a truly blessed day.
