Vedanta Study Circle and Ramakrishna Ashrama, Detroit, Michigan
The Ramakrishna Ashrama at Warren, MI held its Kali Puja on Thursday, October 31st. The program started from 5:30 pm. As per the traditional ritual of Kali Puja, the Divine Mother was worshipped with 16 items followed by Havan and the flower offering (Pushpanjali) by the devotees. To celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights on Kali Puja day, the women devotees lighted candles and hand made diyas. All throughout the evening, the local devotees sang Shyamasangeet and kirtan dedicated to the Goddess Kali. More than 200 people attended the event. All devotees were served Bhog Prasad for dinner.
